Monster/alien paper doll - day 299

Busy time getting lost in Manga studio. Not sure where this idea came from, just popped in my head wanting escape!
This cute little alien has clothes still in the design process and should work like a normal paper doll.
Am in love with how cute she turned out. Originally was trying for a boy, but she pointed out to me she is in fact a girl, so pretty dresses and crowns are the order.

Alien Ornaments finished - day 247

Finally finished this set, distracted from other projects.
All stitched together with some stuffing to give a bit of thickness. I definitely need to make some more!!
Am looking forward to putting up the tree already.

Its nice to try a different Christmas theme other then the traditional Santa. Here in Nz, traditional Santa would roast in that suit being summer and all. No worries for these little guys, they are in their "birthday suit", all ready for the beach!

Alien Ho-ho-ho - Day 243

A new ornament using one of my little monsters. Aliens and monsters like Christmas too!!
Won't be a mass production one though as they take a bit of time to sew. 
This one still needs the final stitching and ribbon attached.

This is my favourite little character at the moment.

Strange Creature - Day 117

a new strange creature.
I was experimenting from a sketch a friends child had done. Following the basic principles of drawing up a pattern with a middle gusset I quickly drew it up and hoped for the best.
Obviously, as a jnr pattern maker (aka... success by fluke) some things work, others didnt.

What worked? it all fit together!
What didn't? its unbalanced, even tried to push the stuffing to the end, but he still tumbles forward (big head)
Oh well, maybe a different shape next?

market day - day 110

Today, selling crafts counts as crafting!!
Undead sets went well and sold all my large guardian book pillows.
The devonport craft market is really good, some fantastic stalls!!

Alien Moon - Day 97

Finally some time to spend on my art/craft. This is just a silly piece I thought of the other day while sketching. its not quite right, the big alien is too big for what I wanted the overall look to be, but I think I happy enough with it to leave it..

Cupcake Madness - Day 89

Another one of those days where I'm counting food as craft.
An afternoon of cupcake making... and in all seriousness, I was just the hovering, icing stealing, guide for a fab lass.
OF course... the decorating is the best part of cupcake making. Todays theme... blue monster madness?! Also a chance to play with the set of icing writing pens.

 (cupcakes are meant to have more icing then actually cake right?!)

Yippee!!
Still the opening to redo as I want it more overlapped when closed.
But the prototype is a fab start. Now one needed to send down south.
Works very well for the "5 little men in a flying saucer" song

a busy teaching week slowing down progress and with a market looming ever closer, I'm wishing I had that magic ring Hermione had in Harry Potter.... sigh

Alien Finger puppets - Day 64-66

Limited crafting time during this week due to family illness and life balance (which sometimes feels as stressful as juggling blood thirsty monsters while baking a cake).
New patterns being played with after the princess finger puppet, led to a small invasion of aliens.
A UFO is also in the pipeline so a set can be sent to a friend.

Alien Egg Warmer - Day 41

Couldnt resist playing wiith the pattern of the bunny from yesterday, so here is an alien/monster creature.

 His hair is a bit wild, maybe he needs more? But the twisty hair was fiddly, so made executive decision this would do!

Bite Me! - Day 35

Thanks for the suggestions on yesterdays post for the bunny body. Misha got me thinking though, and I decided to try an eaten chocolate bunny.
The head I had done hadn't been noshed on yet, so I gave him a Bite me! sign to go with the eaten one. These just happened to be next to the alien, and it wasn't until I pulled it out of the hoop that I realised it can all fit together!

Beam Me Up! - Day 34

I haven't done any cross stitching for years!
I started with the heads, but couldn't decide what to do for the bodies. So cheated and hid the body instead!
The rabbit still needs something (though my strange side considers it could be a head on a spike, with some dripping blood, as the aliens latest catch).
