Completed Heart Popkle - Day 39

With other projects, Easter baking and hunts, I finally finished this Horns of Love Popkle from Day 31!
My biggest stumbling block was my desire for wings that, in the end, didnt seem to work for this Popkle.
So I mounted him like the others, with just a plain black background. I would like to make the background more interesting, but, like the wings, I haven't found something that calls to me yet.

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.

Horns of love Popkle - Day 31

Not complete, but took a while to get the horns right - I wanted a twisty curl in the horns and they eventually decided to settle into hearts.

Photos of Pinky Popkle

The photos of the Pinky Popkle Day 19...

I am SO happy with the longer fingers! Just as an experiment, you can see how cute he is holding my daughters bracelet.

Pinky Popkle - Day 19

Have made a new mounted Popkle head, a pink and black one which is on commision to match a bedroom quilt.
The arms and fingers are longer, which seems better for positioning. But she has come out looking a bit sadder then I wanted, I thought it was just the random way the eyes sat on the first one, but it's happened again! I will now try to adjust the pattern to shape the eyes differently. I'm not saying the sad eyes are bad (the fact they have been captured and mounted is definately something to be sad about!), but it would be good to have some Popkles look happy!

Quote from Fairly Odd Parents... just because there is something about that cartoon I really like! (and will be the approach I take to the destruction and re-creation of the pattern...)

Timmy Turner: It's fun and destructive. It's funstructive.

Popkle extra...

He may be small, but he is looking rather cute up on the wall.
Daughter decided to make him into a cheerleader! I'm glad I opted for wire in this sculpture, as I like the interactive side.

Mounted Popkle Creature - day 10

Happy, happy, joy, joy!!
I was undecided about mounting the head from Day 9 or creating a body to go with it, but instead came up with a fabulous compromise..... Mounted half body!
The arms have a wired armature that allows some movement, and can be gently shaped. He looks a bit sad when his hands are clasped in front of him!
This Popkle is mounted on a 4x4" canvas. His nose is a tad wonky, but I'm going to call it "character" :)
Would love to hear any comments, suggestions or tales of your own recent "accidental wonders"
