Am a bad friend! I promised a finger puppet set for a friends birthday, and started it on day 197, but then, didn’t really touch it again. Other things came up. So the birthday present is now a christmas present!!
I now have a duck, chicken, pig, dog, cat, sheep and cow. I also have a design for a couple more animals, but maybe 7 is enough! They all fit fabulously down Old Mcdonalds trousers!! (Wheres your cat? down my trousers!! hehe!) And its a bonus that he doubles as a hand puppet too.
This hand puppet is part of a birthday present for a pre-school teacher, by her request. This is Old McDonald!
He took a bit of thinking and design because I wanted a pocket to put the finger puppet animals in. Have managed to do this in the back, his shorts and shirt are a pocket. So, in a way, the answer to the question "where is your cow?" is... "Down my shorts!!" :) Have one cow made so far, now for the rest...
Today, selling crafts counts as crafting!!
Undead sets went well and sold all my large guardian book pillows.
The devonport craft market is really good, some fantastic stalls!!
Following on from the alien kit, the undead set from the other day has now become its own make it yourself kit.
the printer isnt working properly, the colour cartridge moody, wont print some colours. This isnt too much of a problem for this set but means I cant print the alien ones... grrrrrrrrr...
In full Market prep panic.
Have come up with a fab way to lesson my need to stitch, finger puppet kits!!
I am planning to make up some kits with all the felt etc, at the moment my printer isnt playing nice though, so fingers crossed.
I have written the instructions and designed the front.
Now all I need is to sweet talk my lovely girl to cut felt!!!! Oh, and girls cast is OFF!! she is still experiencing a slight twinge, but should be all fine.
After a fair bit of woodwork, glue, sanding and paint, a finger puppet display stand is born!!
This wil be used for the market and hopefully other items can also be displayed.
Photos to come...
A chunk of the day spent at a friends house designing and cutting wood in the man-cave. It is a tiered/step display stand for finger puppets with dowel bits. Its looking quite good and I will update as soon as I can.
A request from an early childhood teacher... a set of duck finger puppets that would work for the "5 little ducks" song (You know the one... 5 little ducks went out one day, over the hills and far away, mother duck said quack quack quack quack, but only 4 little ducks came back...)
The pouch is part pond, part hill and can store the puppets inside.
Still 4 ducks to go, but need more yellow felt (which means I will have to walk the gauntlet of the crafty store... dangerous, as I always spot more things I want!)
